Description
There is a strong tradition of hurling in the Abbeyknockmoy area. The club first played senior in the late 60's having won the 1968 junior championship. On relegation in 1970 they won the Intermediate in '71 to regain their senior status. Having dropped a grade again in the mid seventies the Intermediate side contested six consecutive Intermediate semi-finals before winning the 1985 title. Abbeyknockmoy were senior from 1985 to 2005 when they were relegated.
