VOLUNTEERING IN THE COMMUNITY PROGRAMME:
PLACES ARE STILL AVAILABLE!!
Are you aged 18-25 and unemployed? Would you like to learn new skills, gain accredited qualifications, meet new people, get involved in your local community and take part in fun activities?
If you are interested, why not join Donegal Local Development Company Limited's new free 12 week programme which will be starting in Raphoe Family Resource Centre on Tuesday 1st November 2012. The Volunteering in the Community Programme which runs daily from Monday to Friday from 10am-2pm will provide participants with the opportunity to have fun learn new or enhance existing skills through activities such as cookery, outdoor pursuits, day trips and television production.
They can also avail of accredited training such as First Aid and Computers, have the opportunity to become involved in their local community through volunteering and participate in An Gaisce-the President's Award.
The Volunteering in the Community Programme is funded by the International Fund for Ireland.

International Men's Day
International Men's Day will take place on Saturday 19th November. Let the men in your life know how important they are. This week Raphoe Family Resource Centre will be focusing with different groups on the value of, and highlighting the positive contribution that men can make. If any children have any poems or stories about their daddies, grandfathers, uncles or big brothers that they would like to submit to Raphoe Family Resource Centre which will be on display all week.



HARVEST SOCIAL IN AID OF RAYMOCHEY PARISH CHURCH
There will be a Harvest Social in Aid of Raymochey Parish on Friday 11th November in the Orange Hall, Manorcunningham from 9.00 p.m. – 1.00 a.m. Music by Hobo Bill. Supper will be served on the night.



THE STRENGTHENING VOICES PROJECT
Are you or someone you know experiencing depression, anxiety or emotional difficulties because of bereavement, loss, separation, relationship breakdown or due to financial worries or hardship? Would you benefit from being with others to meet in a safe and confidential environment to give and receive practical and emotional support?
Then THE STRENGTHENING VOICES PROJECT could be for you.

Tuesday: - 3rd & 4th Classes from 3.15 – 4.00pm; and for 5th & 6th Classes from 4.00 – 5.00 p.m.
Wednesday: Junior & Senior Infants 2.15 – 3.15pm; 1st & 2nd Classes from 3.15 – 4.45 p.m. Teen Club for 1st – 3rd Secondary Students 7.15 – 9.00 p.m.
Thursday: Junior & Senior Infants from 2.15 – 3.15; 1st & 2nd Classes from 3.15 – 4.45 p.m. Teen Club for Transition/4th and 5th years from 7pm - 9pm.

LITTLE SMILES WITH BIG DREAMS
Little Smiles with Big Dreams is a friendly baby and toddler group situated in Raphoe Family Resource Centre. We are open every Wednesday morning from 10.30 – 12 noon. Little Smiles with Big Dreams is a group that focus on fun for the kids and the opportunity for parents, grandparents and extended family to have discussions with other adults. It is a great way to introduce your child to a social environment while you can discuss parenting tips with others. There is no charge but your kiddies will enjoy playing with all our lovely toys, having messy play, singing and dancing and a light lunch is provided.

FOX N CREW HIP HOP/STREET DANCE CLASS
Dance Classes in Raphoe Family Resource Centre every Wednesday, 5 – 8 yr olds from 5.00 – 6.00 p.m. and 9 – 15 yr. olds from 6.00 – 7.00 p.m. Fee €6.00 for further information contact: -0858409804/0876142326

If you are a car owner with some time to spare on a Monday or a Wednesday and would be willing to deliver meals please contact 074 9145796.

COUNSELLING SERVICES
Raphoe Family Resource Centre offers a free and confidential weekly counselling service to the general public. This person-centred service is for those experiencing Bereavement/Loss, Separation, Abuse, Mental Health Difficulties and issues around sexuality. The service operates on an appointment basis only.

Tidy Towns Toy Appeal
THE ANNUAL RAPHOE TIDY TOWNS WORKERS TOY APPEAL IS NOW OPEN. Toys and gifts for age group toddlers to mid teens accepted from now until 12th December. Toys/gifts may be left in the Volt House Reception. For further information please contact Martin on 9145692. Thank You.

Raphoe Tidy Towns Bronze Medal the Bronze Medal which was won for the town is now on display in the Post Office for everyone to see. It is hoped to have the Medal displayed in other premises and in the Schools in the coming weeks also.
Congratulations to the Tidy Towns Committee, the Fas Project and the entire community for this great achievement for our town.


Volt House Heritage Room:

A special thank you to all our local businesses & business people in Raphoe who have provided services and goods to our community over many years. Over these years the local businesses have never let us down when it came to donations or sponsorship for our various community groups and fundraising activities. This year in particular please remember all our local businesses and give them our support. We are fortunate in Raphoe to still have excellent goods on sale and local services in the various outlets and plenty of bargains especially on the run up to Christmas. RAPHOE BOXING CLUB
On Friday night last the Raphoe club staged a very successful boxing tournament in the Cathedral hall and a bumper crowd were treated to 12 quality contests. A very special thanks goes to all the boxers, coaches, officials, the generous sponsors, the Cathedral Hall committee, Ronnie Goudie all the ladies in the kitchen, ladies on the door, ticket sellers and everyone who helped in any way to make the show a huge success.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery goes to Brendan Ryan who is recovering at home after an knee operation and everyone at the club hope to see Brendan back very soon.
A very special thanks goes to Calvin Beattie, Mc Bride Street for his very generous sponsorship towards the boxing club it is greatly appreciated.
The Raphoe club will stage a Billy Spider Kelly memorable tournament early in the new year with a date and a venue yet to be decided and more details of this tournament will appear in the local press.

RAPHOE FRIDAY SENIORS CLUB:
Raphoe Friday Seniors Club meets every Friday in the Volt House Hall from 10.30am until 1pm. Come along and enjoy the tea and craic. New members welcome. For further information please call the Volt House on 9173966 or just call in any Friday. You will be very welcome.

RAPHOE KURLING CLUB
Raphoe Kurling Club every Monday night @ 7.00 p.m. in the Volt House Hall, the club is very active and plan to re-start old time/ two hand dancing classes on Monday 12th September at 8.00p.m in the Volt House Hall. Do come along and enjoy at nights relaxation, fun and a cup of tea. During the year there will be other activities to get involved in i.e. Drama, Crafts and meeting with other groups socially. A warm welcome awaits New Members.
