Beginning of Ordinary Time
Our thanks to all those who helped with the taking down of the Tree and Crib etc. A special thanks to those who give of their time each week to clean the church. A loyal group meet every Tuesday morning after 10am Mass and give an hour or two of their time to ensure that the church is prepared for the week ahead. If you have a bit of time to spare, your help would be greatly appreciated.
Christmas Tree (Giving Tree)
Through your fantastic support just over €6,000 was donated to help the building of 6 classrooms in Missionvale, South Africa. Fr. Seamus will be heading over there next week to help with the work there. He expresses a sincere Thank You to all who were so wonderful. He promises to ensure that all the money will go directly to Sr Ethel and the great work that she does there. More about it in the coming weeks.
Throughout 2012 Radharc Films will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the screening of its first film on 12th January 1962. During that time they produced a range of provocative, sometimes humorous and always informative films on social, political and religious issues.
The Irish Film Institute has very kindly reserved their January lunchtime Archive Programme for the screening of some of these films. The tickets are FREE for these screenings. Simply collect your tickets at the IFI Box Office. For full details and information on the programmes see www.dublindiocese.ie
Exploring our Spiritual journey
Spirituality is the essence of who we are. It is the deep inner core of our being. Spirituality is part of each one of us regardless of belief or religion.
At key points in our lives we are challenged to change, to move inward, to examine and evaluate our goals, hopes, dreams, beliefs, behaviours, experiences.
In this course an opportunity is created for us to explore our spiritual journey through metaphor, narrative and our own life stories.
The course takes places on Wednesday evenings in All Hallows college and is facilitated by Ann Loughney:
Dates: 22nd, 29th February, 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th March
Time: 7.30pm–9.00pm Cost: €110 for the course. This includes tea/coffee
Do This in Memory Mass
The monthly Do This In Memory Mass in preparation for First Communion takes place today Sunday 15th, at 12 o’clock. (Meet for practice 11.30).
Christian Unity Week
The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity takes place from the 18th of January to the 25th of January 2012. The inaugural service will take place in Milltown Parish, Church of Saints Columba and Gall, Milltown Road, Dublin 6 on Wednesday the 18th of Jaunary at 8.00pm. Preaching at the service will be the Church of Ireland Archbishop of Dublin and Glendalough, Dr. Michael Jackson.
Do you feel God might be calling you to live out your Christian call by becoming a sister, brother, priest, nun or monk? Are you searching for a way to offer yourself in the service of God's world? Do you want to be a witness to God's love in the world and especially to our most vulnerable brothers and sisters? If any of the above resonates with you we invite you to join us over five weekends to experience and explore where God may be calling you. Website: http://www.exploreaway.net/ email: firstname.lastname@example.org Contact for further details: Sr Gabrielle on 087 358 4447/ Br Ronan on 085 766 4480.
Open each week mornings for a cuppa and a chat. Wouldn’t it be great to use it more and keep the church for prayer.
Amen Support Group Meetings have recommenced on a Monday Evening in Navan from 8.00pm – 10.00pm. The Group Meetings are a support for men who suffer domestic abuse or are going through separation. The meetings will cover issues of Stress, Anxiety, Anger, Grief and New Beginnings. Please call 046 9023718 for further information.
Booking Mass intentions
It has been a great tradition of families taking part in the Sunday Mass through the offertory procession. Sometimes this is hard to organise particularly if the family members arrive at the last minute and others are drafted in to bring up the gifts. Please come a bit early and make yourself known to the Stewards to make it easier to organise.
For this reason we also ask that families leave a contact phone number when booking the Mass intention.
Please pray for those recently deceased

World Migrant and Refugee Sunday 15th Jan
Pope Benedict XVI will mark World Day of Migrants and Refugees with a call for the ―new evangelization‖ to extend to migrant workers, refugees and international students.
The World Day of Migrants and Refugees offers the whole Church an opportunity to reflect on a theme linked to the growing phenomenon of migration, to pray that hearts may open to Christian welcome and to the effort to increase in the world justice and charity, pillars on which to build an authentic and lasting peace.
