Parish Pastoral Council: At the recent meeting of the Pastoral Council preliminary steps were discussed concerning the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the opening and dedication of St. Patrick's Church, Louisburgh, on 07 September 1862.
All ideas of how to fittingly mark this event in the parish are welcome; contact Council Chairperson, Elaine Duffy-Prendergast, 085 1338554.
As well as looking to the past and celebrating what was achieved we need to focus on the present with an eye to the future so that the faith passed on to our generation is something that we ensure is alive and active now and will continue to grow into the future.

Parish Pastoral Centre: Following recent renovations and redecoration the centre is re-opening.
When not required for Parish activities the two rooms will be made available to other organisations for meetings. To arrange the booking of these rooms contact Maureen Scott at 087 992 5353 on Monday or Wednesday between 10.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.

Parish Weekly Envelope Collections are used for the upkeep of parish property and the day to day running expenses of the parish. At present a revised and updated list of contributors is being prepared for 2012. If you have not used the envelopes in the past and would like to contribute during the coming year using the envelopes please return the attached form to the Church. It is hoped that the 2012 envelopes will be distributed During November.

Tenders are invited from suitably qualified painting contractors for the painting of the interior of St Patrick's Church Louisburgh.
Documentation may be obtained by calling to the parish office on Mondays and Thursdays between
10.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. or calling 66198. Tenders must be returned by 2.00 p.m. on Friday 04 November.

Mission Sunday, 23 October. We are given the opportunity to express our unity with and support to Christian communities everywhere. World Mission Ireland provides spiritual and practical assistance to the Church's mission worldwide. “Together in Faith” we can all play an active role in helping more than 1,100 dioceses.

Louisburgh Junior Choir practices Tuesday's from 6.45pm to 7.30pm. All members are asked to attend. New members welcome from 1st class upwards.

Louisburgh St Vincent De Paul Society are currently looking to recruit new members to the Society to help them with their existing and expanding work load. We would be particularly interested in recruiting people who have recently retired or people with some time on their hands who would like to help those in our community who are experiencing financial hardship or other difficulties at this time.
Potential members will undergo a rigorous pre-assessment process including Garda Vetting before becoming members of the Society. But the rewards and satisfaction of knowing that one has shared in helping one's neighbour is beyond value.

Louisburgh Library 'Buen Camino'
Louisburgh Library is the place to be on Friday Night 21 October at 7.30p.m. Author and journalist Peter Murtagh whose book 'Buen Camino' was published earlier this year will talk and show slides pertaining to this book, 'Buen Camino' which is co-written with Peter's daughter Natasha. It is the story of their journey from Croagh Patrick to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Admission is Free, Refreshments served and everyone welcome to what is expected to be a very enlightening and enjoyable evening.

Louisburgh Childcare Halloween Party with disco and raffle will be held on Friday 28 October in the Parochial Hall from 6.00pm-8.00pm, €3 per child, €10 per family. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sponsor a child in Eldoret, To feed, cloth and educate a child for a year in Eldoret costs €50. You can lodge the money directly in the Credit Union or you can give a donation to any member of the committee. The families we have supported over the last thirteen years have seen great improvements to their lives and the lives of their children and grandchildren so we hope that you can try to continue this worthwhile support and be part of the partnership. We now are supporting a community in Eldoret, Kenya where Sr. Teresa is now based. We know that our contributions are going to the people that need our support. With this in mind we would ask you to dig deep and support Sr. Treasa and the Aids orphans who are so grateful for your support over the last thirteen years in Kitale and now Eldoret.
