The work should be completed this week. The church will remained closed until work is completed except for Ash Wednesday, weekend Masses and in the event of a funeral occurring.
Arrangements for Daily Mass: Until the work is finsihed Mass will be celebrated in the Pastoral Centre as announced each week in the Newsletter.

Young Children at Mass: the area under the stairs in Louisburgh Church is being adapted so parents may bring young children there, if they wish, during Mass. CCTV will provide a link to the sanctuary of the church so that parents can follow the Mass.

Do This in Memory: Preparation programme for first Holy Communion: We again welcome the children from Louisburgh N.S who are preparing to receive their First Holy Communion, to our Sunday Mass in Louisburgh. We welcome them, their parents and families. This week they are highlighting the importance of praying for and caring for the sick.

Congratulations, Killeen N.S. A whole school evaluation of Killeen N.S. was recently carried out by the Inspectorate of the Department of Education. The Inspector's report will be published presently on the Department's website. It highly praises the excellent achievements of the school. Congratulations go to all the school staff, present and past, to the pupils and parents and all who help in the running of the school.
We are fortunate to have two excellent primary schools serving our parish. New Boards of Management for primary schools have recently taken office. We thank those who serve on the Boards in a totally voluntary capacity and who work so diligently for the good of all pupils in our schools.
Again, congratulations to Killeen N.S. on their wonderful report.

Trocaire: ‘Rebuilding Communities for lasting change’ is the theme of this year's Trocaire Lenten Campaign. The boy on the 2012 Trocaire box, Daniel Okweng (9) lives in the small rural village of Bar Kawach, Barlonyo, northern Uganda. It was the scene of a massacre during the brutal conflict that affected northern Uganda for over 20 years. Families have returned to their original homes after years living in camps. Trocaire is helping these families begin a new life by growing food, earning an income and sending their children to school; the first steps towards a brighter future.
We can be very proud of the truly generous response in our Parish to the annual Trocaire Lenten campaigns along with emergency appeals. (See Notice Boards in Churches) Thanks to everyone for once again supporting Trocaire. Trocaire boxes are available in the churches. Please take one home and read the literature.

150th Anniversary of St Patrick's Church, Louisburgh: The celebration will be held on the weekend of 07, 08, & 09 September 2012. The Parish Pastoral Council feel we should rightly remember the past and the achievement of building such a fine building shortly after the
Famine, but we should also remember that our Church is more than just an impressive building and we, the people, are the Church. The challenge is now to bring our faith into the future and to hand it on to the next generation in this parish.
Old photographs would be very welcome and we appeal to anyone with old photographs of the church, especially prior to the renovations in 1974, to contact us. They would be scanned and returned to their owner.
