CRAFT GROUP MEETINGS.
We meet regularly in Glencorrib / Kilroe Community Centre. We bring whatever craft we like (e.g. cards, knitting, crochet) with us to work on for the evening, chat, share ideas & have a cuppa. Meetings are informal. New attendees always welcome. €2-3 pp per night to cover hall / heating costs. Next meeting October 11th @ 8pm.

PCH - PARENTS COUNCIL AGM & ELECTION OF PARENT NOMINEES FOR BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
The PCH Parents Council will hold its Annual General Meeting in the study hall on Monday 26th September at 8pm. All PCH parents are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting. Part of the evening's business will be the election of two parents to sit on the new Board of Management which will begin its three year term in October. The meeting will be addressed by Mr Damien Kennedy of Ceist who will speak about the role of parents on the Board of Management and the role of the Parents Council.

PCH: OFFICIAL OPENING OF NEW BUILDING
The Official Opening and Blessing of Presentation College Headford's new building takes place on Friday 30th September at 7pm. All are welcome.

PLAY GROUND & AMENITY WALK:
Moyne Villa FC are holding a fundraising draw to raise funds for a playground and amenity walk which is currently under construction on its grounds in Headford. They hope that this project will be completed by late October. This will provide a state-of-the-art playground and a fully lit walking track for the surrounding areas. They will be holding a huge fundraiser in the coming weeks. Raffle tickets will be sold at €10 each. Ticket holders will be in with a great chance of grabbing great prizes! Including Laptops and IPads! Your support would be very much appreciated. Tickets can be bought in the clubhouse and will be sold around Headford in the coming weeks!! October 30th 12:00pm - 3:00pm

Legend says that these twin brothers became skilled doctors. They were among those who are venerated in the East as the "moneyless ones" because they did not charge a fee for their services. It was impossible that such prominent persons would escape unnoticed in time of persecution. They were arrested and beheaded. The two suffered no injury during tortures or their martyrdom. Many fables grew up about the brothers, connected in part with their relics. Patronage: barbers, blind people and doctors.

Tue 27th Sept ST. VINCENT DE PAUL. (France) 1581-1660.
Born to a peasant family. Ordained at 20. Taken captive by Turkish pirates to Tunis and sold into slavery. When freed he converted one of his owners to Christianity. Returning to France, started organizations to help the poor, nursed the sick, found jobs for the unemployed. He founded the Daughters of Charity. Worked always for the poor, the enslaved, the abandoned and the ignored.

King of Bohemia. Ascended to power when his father was killed during a pagan backlash against Christianity, which he fought against with prayer and patience. Murdered by his brother Boleslaus at the door of a church; killed for political reasons, but normally listed as a martyr since the politics arose from his faith. Miracles reported at his tomb. Patron of Czech Republic and brewers.

Spend much of his life translating the complete Hebrew and Greek scriptures into Latin. He was never far from controversy especially in his defence of the perpetual virginity of the Blessed Virgin. His great legacy to the Church has been his scholarship, testified
by the enduring place held in the western Church by Vulgate version of the Bible. The bible is the official best selling book of all time. 100 million copies are sold every year

Sat 1st Oct ST. TERESA OF THE CHILD JESUS. (France) 1873-97.
Born to a middle-class French family. Her mother died on cancer when Therese was 4. Cured from an illness at age eight when a statue of the Blessed Virgin smiled at her. Carmelite nun at age 15. Defined her path to God and holiness as "The Little Way," which consisted of love and trust in God. Many miracles attributed to her. Patroness of the Missions, loss of parents. Canonised in 1925

Barbara (Barbee Molloy) Morris (84th year). Toronto, Canada. Formerly Ballisnahina. (1939 Photo on page# 139 of Glencorrib NS Book). Beloved wife of William James Morris, formerly of Errit, Roscommon. Devoted to her 7 children and 11 grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters Liz, Ballisnahina and Nora and many relatives in Ireland, England & USA. She was the treasured heart of her family, always there with unquestioning support. She was someone who loved fun and was quick with the jokes and snappy one-liners. She was a true inspiration and will be enormously missed. RIP.
