FEILE U/14 HURlING
On Sunday morning the 11th of March, our u 14 played Mungret in Mungret in the feile competition. It was a lovely soft spring morning and ideal for hurling. We were short 5, They were participating with UL Bohs in the Rugby League final. We started slowly and after 10 minutes we were 1 goal and 3 points to a point behind. Before half time we tagged on 2 points before they got a good goal to the top of the net.
In the second half there were a few positional changes and two replacements. We dominated for 10 minutes of the second half. We had two very good shots at goals but they came to naught. They then broke the momentum and tagged on another goal to leave the final score Mungret 3-4 to ahane's 4 points. This was an enjoyable game played in good spirits and alot closer than the scoreling might suggest. Ahane were best served by Matthew Hartigan James Touhy Michael Power Daniel MInehan

AHANE NATIONAL SCHOOL GROUND HURLING WINNERS

Ahane N.S. have qualified for the County Final of the indoor hurling competition for children in Third and Fourth Classes. We have taken part in this competition for many years without much success but this year the lads have surpassed all expectations and won out in East Limerick against formidable opposition. They beat Caherconlish and Knockea in the first blitz. On their second day out they drew with Crecora in the first game, beat Tineterriffe well in the second and then faced a well supported Lisnagry outfit coached by Shane McGrath in the decider. Ahane finished the stronger side and celebrated their win in a welter of excitement.

There will also be Traditional Music in the Bar. Hot food served all Day- Bacon Cabbage & Mashed potatoes Irish Stew Burgers/Nuggets/Sausages & Mash
