It provides an online forum whereby FREE of charge, non profit and voluntary organisations in the community can promote their message in a positive and proactive manner.

The service allows locals and those living away from home, to stay in contact with their town, keep informed of key developments and where possible, get involved. www.mylocalnews.ie is a privately owned limited company. It is an independent entity with no ties to any newspaper, television, radio station or related media outlet.

The website is funded through local and national banner and classified advertising.

The founder has extensive experience in the Irish and UK media market. The company has strong financial backing, it is supported by an experienced  management team and an advisory board, each of whom have a strong track record in the Irish business, media, voluntary and non profit sector.

How to get involved

Become a 'KEY CONTACT'. This allows you to directly post news updates on the site on behalf of your community group. Please take the following steps; 

1.  Click the 'Register/Login' button on the top page of the site.

2. Register as a 'Community User' in the TOWN where your organisation is BASED, NOT where you live.

3.  Then login, go to 'My Account' and click the 'Become a Key Contact' link.

4.  Choose your preferred field and submit.

Your application will be received by an existing 'Key Contact' in your town or by Admin.

Once approved, you will receive an activation e-mail and you can then commence posting your news updates.
