Two positive cases of Coronavirus have been reported at the ABP Food Group meat processing facility, prompting the company to test all the staff members for the new virus.

The company stated this was only a precaution and will not affect the plant’s operations. The company was notified that two of their workers tested positive for COVID-19. The testing will be carried out by a private company.

The company has taken actions in the light of the positive cases and said it will work with both the Health and Safety Authority and HSE on the matter.

The company has implemented several precautionary measures since the pandemic started, including “limiting site access to essential personnel, temperature checks at the entry to the site, staggered break times, perspex partitions where appropriate, social distancing measures in canteens and all other communal spaces, as well as detailed protocols for colleagues who display any symptoms.”
